Welcome to Learn to Skate Registration
We have several options available listed below. "Try Hockey For Free Day" is a one day event and open to all ages. Learn to Skate is a 6 Week program that runs 2 days a week. Learn to Play Hockey is a 6 Week program that runs 2 days a week after the new year.
TRY HOCKEY FOR FREE DAY (3+)
On November 5th 2022, in coordination with USA Hockey’s “Try Hockey for Free” this event gives kids an opportunity to get on the ice and try skating for free. Skates are available, but sizes are limited. Please bring a bike or hockey helmet. Parents are able to help on the ice if skates and a helmet are worn. This event is open to children who live in the West Salem Hockey Association boundaries.

DATE: November 5th, 2022
TIME: 10 am - 12 pm
FREE LEARN TO SKATE (Ages 3-10)
At this FREE program, skaters will learn the basics of skating including balance, standing up, stopping & turning. This event is open to children who live in the West Salem Hockey Association boundaries.
EQUIPMENT: Skaters must bring a helmet & skates. (Bike helmets are ok if you don’t have a hockey helmet.)
Skates may be borrowed through the WSHA depending on availability.
DATES: Every Wednesday 6:15-6:45pm and Saturday 8:30-9:00am Nov. 9th - Dec. 17th
FREE LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY (Ages 3-10)
At this FREE program, skaters will continue to learn the basics of skating white introducing basics of hockey, including stick handling and puck control. This event is open to children who live in the West Salem Hockey Association boundaries.
EQUIPMENT: Skaters must bring a helmet & skates. Sticks are provided by WSHA.
(Bike helmets are ok if you don’t have a hockey helmet.)
Skates may be borrowed through the WSHA depending on availability.
DATES: 6 week program, runs 2 days a week Feb-Mar.
